The Juan Tábara SOWS (Safe Open Water Swimming) Foundation's fundamental goal is to promote open water safety and prevent tragedies like the one that led to Juan Tábara's death. We invite institutions, companies, associations, federations, clubs, and citizens to join our commitment.

We demand strict compliance with existing regulations for piloting fast boats: appropriate and up-to-date licenses, drug controls, and psychological tests to ensure everyone's safety.
We advocate for the implementation of optimal markings in bathing areas, ensuring clear demarcation that protects swimmers and prevents incidents involving boats.
We demand the implementation of effective measures to pursue and penalize speedboats that violate the prohibition on venturing within 200 meters of the coast at speeds exceeding 3 knots.
We are working to implement preventive measures to reduce the risk of accidents through awareness campaigns, clear signage, and concrete actions to ensure safety.
We support ongoing research in the field of open water safety, collaborating with academic institutions and specialized organizations to develop best practices.
We are committed to publicly reporting our activities and results.
Creating safe bathing areas on our coasts and encouraging open water swimming is the best tribute to my son, a passionate sea lover.
